This draft must be reconciled with the cookies, analytics tools, embedded services and consent controls actually used in production. It does not claim that a cookie-consent implementation has already been legally approved.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Similar technologies can include local storage, pixels or identifiers used to operate a website, remember preferences or understand technical use.
2. Current implementation position
The website is built as a static Astro site and includes a lightweight preference control. The control keeps optional analytics and marketing tools inactive until the matching category is accepted. No provider should be described as active unless its public identifier has been configured and its production behaviour has been verified.
3. Proposed cookie categories
Necessary
Necessary storage remembers the visitor’s category choices and may support security, accessibility, network delivery or specifically requested functionality. This category cannot be switched off through the website control.
Analytics
Approved analytics may help understand page visits, referral sources, device types and technical performance. Any analytics provider, cookie duration, data destination and opt-out process must be disclosed before use.
Marketing
A configured marketing pixel may measure relevant campaign activity only after marketing consent. Advertising pixels or cross-site profiling tools should not be assumed from EngageMobile’s advertising business; each tool requires a specific technical, privacy and consent review.
4. Third-party services
Clicking email, telephone, WhatsApp, app-store or other external links may take you to a third-party service that applies its own cookies and policies. EngageMobile should identify any embedded third-party content separately if it is added.
5. Consent and control
Where applicable law requires consent, non-essential cookies should remain inactive until the visitor makes a choice. The website control provides necessary-only, accept-all and customized choices without preselecting optional categories. The persistent Cookie preferences button allows choices to be changed.
You can also manage cookies through browser settings. Blocking all storage may affect functionality that genuinely depends on it.
6. Cookie register and retention
Before launch, EngageMobile should maintain a register containing each cookie or storage key, provider, purpose, category and duration. No unverified cookie names or retention periods are published in this draft.
7. Updates and contact
This notice should be updated whenever website technology changes. Questions about cookies or privacy can be sent tohello@engagemobile.com.ng. Related information appears in the Privacy Notice.
